Global Hand Washing Day

15, October 2009 was celebrated as 2^nd International Global Hand Washing Day. Friends Foundation also arranged a series of activities encompassing the whole week to foster and support a global and local culture of hand washing with soap.

         1.       Interactive theaters

Approximately 150 females, 75 male and 400 Students learnt about hand washing through the 2 theatrical performances.

2.     Community Group Sessions

5 Sessions with Mothers and 5 Sessions with fathers of under five children were arranged to achieve the Goals of Global Hand Washing Day. About 130 females and 125 males were benefited with this activity.

3.     School Activities:

Under School Component Friends Foundation Team visited 6 Primary Schools on GHD (15, October 2009) and 15 other schools during the same week in Tehsil Taxila. FF gave 3 book labels/ stickers to every Student of 4^th class.

At the end of every activity one piece of soap (lifebuoy) each was distributed among the participants. The week was celebrated UC Ghala Khurd and Sara-e-Kala, Tehsil Taxila, District Rawpandi.
