Formation of Citizen Community Board
Friends Citizen Community Board is a volunteer organization working for the marginalized segment community focused on health related activities and overall awareness rising. It was constituted in May, 2006 and registered by the District Officer Social Welfare/ District Officer Registration (CCB), Rawalpindi, on 8th November 2006. A group of medical and para-medical professionals along with social workers and other volunteers arranged free medical camps. Besides providing curative & preventive health facilities, the Citizen Community Board is also arranging training and refresher courses for health workers through its sister NGO, Friends Foundation, Rawalpindi. The CCB is constantly organizing community meetings. The Citizen Community Board is also providing Family Planning services with the collaboration of Friends Foundation to the local community.UNDP is providing a filtration plant for the Safe Drinking Water Project and four filtration plants have been installed in Rawalpindi District with the networking of other CBOs,CCBs and NGOs.
