MOTHER & CHILD HEALTH
New millennium is marked with a minimum maternal and infant mortality rate in most of the countries but unfortunately Pakistan still has an alarming MMR and IMR. Friends Foundation has targeted this issue and initiated the projects for the same purpose. Most of the deaths are observed at the time of delivery due to non-availability of the trained birth attendants. The children death is observed due to infectious diseases like flu, cholera, typhoid etc.
The projects taken up in this regard by the organization are:
The medical centers with modern OPD facilities catering services to more than 108,000 patients per year.
Maternal & Child Health Centers providing prenatal, neo-natal, ante-natal and immunization facilities.
Trained Gynecologists are regular visitor to the centers.
Contraceptives services at the centers and door to door
Immunization facilities
Basic Laboratory Test Facilities including Hematology, Radiography, Sonography and Urinalysis
Awareness Campaigns
Traditional Birth Attendants Training
Free Medical Camps
